22871. Govt allows people to install rooftop solar plants at own

- In a major decision that is going to change the entire domestic rooftop solar market, the Government on Friday allowed people to install rooftop solar plants on their own and get the net metering from the DISCOM concerned and 40 % subsidy from the Centre.
- The Ministry has directed all the distribution companies to make sure that net metering is provided within 15 days of the information being received, the Ministry said. Further, the subsidy to be given by the Government—40% for the rooftop of upto 3 KW capacity and 20% beyond that upto 10 KW would be credited automatically to the account of the householder by the DISCOM within 30 days of the installation, the Ministry said.
- The intimation to the DISCOM of the installation of the rooftop can be given either in the material form through a letter or on the designated website which has been set up by every DISCOM and by the Govt. of India for the Roof Top Scheme.

- 2. आनंद लखनऊ स्थित AKP Technovision के संस्थापक हैं, जिसके जरिये वह इंजीनियरिंग के छात्रों को अलग-अलग विषयों पर ट्रेनिंग देते हैं। वह छात्रों को प्रोजेक्ट्स तैयार करने में मदद करते हैं। साथ ही, अपने आविष्कारों को बाजार तक पहुंचा भी रहे हैं।
- 3. रेस्टोबैग की बात करें तो यह एक बैग कम चेयर मॉडल है। यात्रा के दौरान अपने बैग को ही चेयर बनाकर आराम कर सकते हैं।
- 4. 50 से 80 किलोग्राम का व्यक्ति आसानी से इस पर बैठ सकता है। आनंद का दावा है कि अब तक वह लगभग 1000 रेस्टोबैग की बिक्री कर चुके हैं।
- 5. आनंद को 2015 में ब्रेनफीड मैगज़ीन से ‘गेस्ट ऑफ़ ऑनर’ अवॉर्ड, उत्तर प्रदेश के विज्ञान व तकनीक विभाग से इनोवेटर प्रोमोटर अवॉर्ड मिला था। वहीं स्पीड ब्रेकर से बिजली बनाने के प्रोजेक्ट के लिए भी उन्हें 2016 में इनोवेशन अवॉर्ड मिला था।

- NEW DELHI: In a major boost to drone use in farming, the Union agriculture ministry has issued funding guidelines to make this technology affordable by assisting in purchase, hiring and demonstrations of agriculture drones.
- The “sub-mission on agricultural mechanisation” (SMAM) scheme envisages granting upto 100% or Rs 10 lakh as grant funding for drone purchase by ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and State agriculture universities. It provides for 75% grant funding for drone purchase to farmer producer organisations (FPOs). The financial aid and grants shall be applicable till March 31, 2023.
- “Rs 6,000 per hectare (will) be given as contingent expenditure to implementing agencies that hire drones for demonstrations. Rs 3,000 per hectare to be given as contingent expenditure to implementing agencies that buy drones for drone demonstrations. Forty per cent or up to Rs 4 lakhs of grant funding for drone purchase to existing custom hiring centres which are set up by Cooperative Society of Farmers, FPOs & Rural entrepreneurs,” Drone federation of India president Smit Shah said.

- Working on its long-term commitment to sustainability, which is also one of the key pillars of the company’s 5-year vision, Apollo Tyres Ltd has ensured green power for its largest manufacturing facility in Chennai, in the southern part of the country. This will increase the share of renewable energy to more than 30% of the total for this manufacturing facility.
- Apollo Tyres has invested in CSE Deccan Solar, a subsidiary of Cleantech Solar, a sum of INR 93 million, for a 27.2% equity, to get a guaranteed supply of 40 million units of electricity per annum for its Chennai facility.
- Apollo Tyres has an installed capacity to produce around 900 metric tonnes of tyres per day in Chennai, which includes passenger vehicle tyres and light, medium & heavy commercial vehicle tyres.

- India successfully test-fired a new version of the supersonic cruise missile Brahmos off the Odisha coast in Balasore on Thursday, DRDO sources said.
- With new added technologies, including the control system, the missile was test-fired from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) launch pad-III at Chandipur around 10.45 am, said a source at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- Earlier on January 11, the country had successfully test-fired BrahMos Supersonic Cruise missile from the Indian Navy's INS Visakhapatnam warship.
